About Madrid

Although Madrid shares the latitude of Naples and Istanbul, its climate is more continental, with pronounced contrasts between day and night, sun and shade, and summer and winter. The weather is usually warm and sunny. The mean maximum air temperature is 25ºC, but nights can already get chilly.

From any point of Madrid, travelling by metro:

The university has its own metro stop (called Universidad Rey Juan Carlos) in the line 12 (this line is frecuently named as "metrosur").

The travel from the Principe Pio area takes about 30 minutes. Please, be awared that metro ask for an extra ticket in the "Puerta del sur" station when changing to the line 12.

From the Atocha Area (Hotel NH Nacional), travelling by train:

From Atocha Area in downtown Madrid the Campus de Móstoles is reached by the C-5 local train line (Cercanías) of RENFE  Go right to the end of the line, station Móstoles-El Soto. There are local trains every 3 to 15 minutes. From the centre of Madrid it takes some 30 minutes to reach  Móstoles-El Soto.

From the Principe Pio Area (Hotel Florida Norte), travelling by bus:

From the Principe Pio Area you reach the university by bus no. 522, which depart from the bus terminal right in front of  thePrincipe Pío Metro and local train station, and stops at the door of Campus de Móstoles (stop Gran Capitán). Buses leave every 10 to 15 minutes and take about 30 minutes to reach the Campus. Ask the driver to tell you when to get off.

From the Móstoles Area (Hotels Ibis and Formule-1):

From the Hotels Ibis and Formule-1 take bus no. 526 (stop at 100 m), direction downtown Móstoles, and get off at stop Gran Capitan in front of University Rey Juan Carlos. Alternatively, the walk to Campus de Móstoles will take you about 20 minutes.

• leave at exit 18 and follow the signs to Universidad Rey Juan Carlos

How To Reach the DAC?

• Enter Campus de Móstoles through its main entrance at the Gran Capitan roundabout
• Consult the Campus map to reach the Departamental II building (marked as 1)

From the Gran Capitan bus stop (lines 522 and 526 )

• Go to the Gran Capitan roundabout and enter Campus de Móstoles by the main entrance (a 5-10 minutes walk)
• Consult the Campus map to reach the Departamental II building (marked as 1)

From the Airport to:

• Public transport (see subway map):
  • Get to the Metro station Aeropuerto located at Terminal T2 of Madrid Barajas International Airport
  • Take Line 8 (pink) up to its final station Nuevos Ministerios
  • At Nuevos Ministerios metro station switch to Line 10 (dark blue) and get off at Principe Pio station
• By taxi:
  • Taxi fare from the airport is € 25 approx

• Public transport (see subway and local train map): :
  • Get to the Metro station Aeropuerto located at Terminal T2 of Madrid Barajas International Airport
  • Take Line 8 (pink) up to its final station Nuevos Ministerios
  • At Nuevos Ministerios metro station go to the local train ("Cercanías") area and catch any southbound train (lines C-1, C-2, C-7 or C-10). Each of them will drop you off at Atocha station.
• By taxi:
  • Taxi fare from the airport is € 20 approx

• Public transport:
  • Get to the Principe Pio Station (see above).
  • Take Bus no 521 which leaves right in front of Principe Pio Station and takes you right to the Ibis and Formule-1 hotels (ask the driver to tell you where to get off)
• By taxi:
  • Taxi fare from the airport is € 50 approx
